Our Team
Congratulations on taking the first step to wellness. Even beginning to look for a therapist can be challenging; as there are many different specialties and people to choose from. As a therapist, I am extremely passionate about helping each individual I serve to obtain their personal wellness or maybe just to process difficult/challenging history. Life can be tough, and therapy is there to help; much like seeing a doctor when you are feeling ill or out of sorts. I have a passion for helping people identify and embrace their worth, and rediscover the joy of being human. I approach each person from a non-judgmental and exploratory approach, as labels only help us to categorize and do not allow for intricacies of human nature. My approach to your wellness, includes cognitive behavioral techniques, empowerment, DBT informed, EMDR, and solution focused. My primary areas of specialty include trauma, anxiety, depression, SPMI, crisis, post-natal transition, and problematic sexual concerns/behaviors. I am trained in EMDR, various areas of sexuality, and various areas of supervision/conflict management.
A little about me, I obtained my Masters of Social Work from the University of Minnesota Duluth and have over a decade in post masters experience, but have been working with people for many more. I have three kids, three dogs, two cats, and some chickens. I enjoy running, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding and glamping. I am also an avid reader.

I am a therapist licensed in Minnesota with a deep passion for helping people heal. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, and also supporting clients navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and a wide range of other mental health concerns.
I am formally trained in EMDR and Art Therapy, and I integrate these approaches to help clients process trauma, express themselves, and reconnect with their inner strengths. I am also informed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which I use to support skill-building, emotional regulation, and personal growth.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and holistic. I believe healing begins with genuine connection, and I strive to create a space where clients feel truly seen and supported. I meet each person exactly where they are with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or a loved one, I’m here to support your healing.
With every client, I strive to create a space in which they feel safe, empowered, and affirmed. I work to assist my clients in building a positive sense of self in order to thrive outside of my office. In sessions with me, I am just the navigator and the client is in the driver's seat. My intention is to guide my client's to their desired destination on their healing journey.

I believe that therapy can benefit everyone, no matter their background or circumstances. My passion lies in supporting individuals as they work through the parts of life that no longer serve them and move toward a more authentic, fulfilling way of living. I hold a deep belief that every person is worthy of the life they desire—and it’s my privilege to help clients uncover what that looks like and take steps toward achieving it.
In my practice, I work with individuals navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, emotional awareness and regulation, identity exploration, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs. I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with mindfulness-based techniques to promote emotional balance and resilience.
I view mental health as an essential part of overall well-being—just as important as physical health—and believe that investing in it allows us to live fuller, more grounded lives.
Outside the therapy room, I find joy in being outdoors—especially near the water—traveling, exploring new places, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

My career in counseling began in 1991 in the Palm Beach County, Florida jails working to help men and women suffering from addiction. Since then, I have had the fortune to experience the sharing of many stories in a variety of settings including; women and children in shelters, adolescents in juvenile homes, children in foster care, the developmentally disabled in group homes, several treatment centers for addiction and alcoholism, and in private practice as a mental health clinical counselor. Within these settings I have provided therapy to individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorder, Depressions, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders and Life Transitions.
For the last 11 years, I have been in private practice and have come to know my own strengths; I am empathic, I instill hope and I am nonjudgmental. Most of all, I believe in the ability to heal. Through the years I have developed skills in several disciplines. I utilize an eclectic evidence-based approach to therapy incorporating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Psychology, Existential Therapy, Spirituality, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Informed. Most of all, I respect each person as a unique individual who is capable, has strengths, has purpose and desires a joyous life.
On a personal note, I love spending time with my family, two dogs and friends. I hike, read, bike, practice yoga and meditation and paint with acrylics and oils.
